Perfect Hummus

Hummus was almost a daily part of growing up in a Lebanese family. I must have had it at least ever other day. Its such a versatile dish that can be customized in many ways. I personally like it two ways; regular and spicy. I’ll post my very own spicy hummus recipe soon. Its basically the same recipe with some chili powder and jalapenos.

There are a lot of good hummus recipes out there. They all are very basic. However, as with a lot of my ingredients, I like to add vinegar to the mix. Especially white wine vinegar. Read my blog post so you can learn all about why I love white wine vinegar. Vinegar gives it a little zest that goes well with pita or tortilla chips.

The recipe is very simple. Get all the ingredients and blend them together! If you want to get really fancy, get the dried chick peas and soak them in water overnight. It definitely gives the hummus a different taste. Although, in my opinion, both canned and dried chick peas provide great taste.

Instructions
  1. In a food processor, blend all the ingredients until smooth. If texture is too thick, add some water slowly until you get the desired texture.
  2. Scoop up hummus and serve. Drizzle olive oil on top to add extra flavor. Pairs very well with tortilla or pita chips
